FAQs

ABOUT THE SERVICES GENERALLY

What age range do you work with?

I work with children aged 2–16 across all my services.

No. You can contact me directly to book a free 15-minute introductory call and we’ll take it from there.

Regular therapy sessions focus on working directly with your child. The SPACE Programme focuses on you — the parent. Rather than me seeing your child weekly, I coach you to understand what your child is already communicating and give you practical strategies to use every day at home. It’s a complete programme, not just sessions.

Yes. Many families I work with are still waiting for or working towards a diagnosis. What matters is that you’re noticing differences in how your child communicates — that’s enough to get started.

I work with children with a wide range of communication needs including speech sound difficulties, language delay and disorder, autism and social communication differences, stuttering and fluency, selective mutism, and early communication and pre-verbal skills.

ABOUT ONLINE THERAPY

Does online therapy actually work?

Yes — and the research backs this up. Studies consistently show that online speech and language therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for the vast majority of children. In fact, many children are more relaxed and engaged when they’re in their own home rather than a clinic.

Absolutely. Sessions don’t need to look like a child sitting at a screen. I work with parents to use everyday activities, toys and routines your child already loves. The session happens around your child, not the other way around.

Just a device with a camera and microphone — a phone, tablet or laptop all work fine — and a stable internet connection. I use Microsoft Teams, which is free to download. I’ll send you a link before each session.

The main difference is convenience — no travel, no waiting rooms, no disruption to your child’s routine. The quality of support is the same. For the SPACE Programme in particular, online delivery actually works better because I can observe your child in their natural home environment, which tells me far more than a clinic setting ever could.

Yes. All remote services are available to families anywhere in the world. I currently work with families in Australia, the Philippines, the UK and beyond.

ABOUT THE SPACE PROGRAMME

Who is the SPACE Programme for?

The SPACE Programme is for parents and carers of children with social communication differences, including autism, who want to feel more confident supporting their child’s communication at home. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to join.

It’s a complete 6-week programme delivered online. Before we begin, you complete a short questionnaire and send a few short videos of your child. From there we work through weekly coaching sessions, live observation, and practical strategies — all tailored to your child specifically. Full details are on the SPACE Programme page.

The programme is informed by ADOS-2, SCERTS and PACT — gold-standard frameworks used by specialist therapists worldwide. Everything I recommend is evidence-based, not generic advice.

You can pay the full programme fee of £1,500 upfront, or spread the cost across 3 monthly payments of £500. Payment is processed securely online via Stripe.

Everything — full assessment, 6 × 1-hour coaching sessions, session summaries after every session, education modules, between-session support via messaging, measurable progress tracking, and a 3-month follow-up session.

ABOUT IN-PERSON SERVICES (MELBOURNE)

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes — for families based in Melbourne, Australia. I offer Saturday clinic sessions at 43 Clyveden Avenue, home visits, and school visits.

Saturday clinics are in-person sessions at my clinic at 43 Clyveden Avenue, Melbourne. Places are limited — you can join the waiting list on the Saturday Clinics page to be first to hear when bookings open.

A home visit means I come to you. Working in your child’s own environment can be particularly effective for younger children or those who find new settings difficult. It also allows me to see the spaces your child spends time in and give advice that’s practical for your home.

Yes. I offer school visits where I work directly with your child in their school setting and support teaching staff with strategies to carry over into the classroom. I also offer staff training workshops for educators and teaching assistants.

ABOUT ASSESSMENTS

What happens in an assessment?

An initial assessment lasts up to 90 minutes and can include formal standardised tests, observation, case history and discussion with parents and relevant professionals. It gives me a full picture of your child’s communication profile and informs any recommendations I make.

Yes. A written report summarising the assessment findings and recommendations is available following your child’s assessment.

It’s a relaxed, no-obligation conversation. You tell me about your child and what you’re finding difficult, I explain how I can help, and we work out together which service is the right fit. There’s no pressure and no commitment required.

CONFIDENTIALITY & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Is my child's information kept confidential?

Yes. All information you share with me is kept strictly confidential in line with professional standards and GDPR. I am a registered Speech and Language Therapist bound by a professional code of conduct.

ADOS-2 is a gold-standard tool used in autism assessment. SCERTS is a framework for supporting social communication and emotional regulation in children with autism. PACT is an evidence-based parent-coaching approach with strong research behind it for children with autism and social communication differences. I use all three to inform my practice.
